Rooted in their faith, Angela and her husband Mark
strive to live out Ecclesiastes 9:10:
“Whatever your hands
find to do, do it with all your heart.” For Angela, this means not only teaching her children
the gospel but living it out daily through acts of service and love.
This story was inspired by the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene in 2024, a
storm that tore through the Appalachian Mountains and left behind both destruction and
remarkable stories of resilience.
Angela wrote this book to honor the unique efforts of
neighbors, volunteers, and communities that brought hope in the face of overwhelming
loss.
In the wake of the storm, Angela’s family felt called to start an initiative to bring
healing through play—repurposing American Girl dolls into beautiful Appalachian dolls
with their own stories of bravery and strength.
These dolls, given to girls affected by the
hurricane, became tools of comfort and joy during a time of great need.
Proceeds from this book will go directly to continuing this heartfelt project, ensuring
that young girls touched by the storm receives a reminder of hope, faith, and the strength
of the Appalachian spirit.
Angela’s passion for storytelling, community, and faith shines
through every page, creating a timeless story for families to treasure each Christmas
season.
